The hotel is located on a residential street and is separated from the road by a gate. Steps lined with grass and trees lead to the entrance. Upon entering the building through the automatic doors, guests are immediately greeted by a large sculpture of Sainte Thérèse de Lisieux and an informational poster about Pierre Goursat, the founder of the Emmanuel Community. There are marble floors, a wood-paneled wall, and few pieces of art. The overall atmosphere is simple and austere, and the hotel is best suited for Catholic pilgrims who want to be near the Vatican. 

Situated in the historic center of Rome, the hotel is in a residential area a 10-minute walk from the Vatican City and within walking-distance of bars and restaurants.  Other major points of interest are easily accessible on public transportation via the Valle Aurelia Metro Station, a 15-minute walk away, and there are several bus lines that pass through in the immediate vicinity. The airport is a 25-minute drive away. 

The 53 rooms at the hotel are simply furnished with only the basic necessities: a bed (or two or three in some), an end table, a closet, and a small desk with a chair. There is barely any art on the walls other than small prints hung over the beds. Tooms have light patterned wallpaper and shiny green patterned bedspreads. Some rooms also have balconies. There are no TVs, mini-fridges, or safes in the rooms, although the hotel does provide free Wi-Fi. Tiny bathrooms have bidets and tubs with hand-held showers. There are two rooms in the hotel that are designed to accommodate guests with disabilities and available by request. 

On the top floor of the hotel is a small chapel with marble floors, wooden pews, and a gorgeous stained glass horizontal panel at the top of the windows. The hotel also has a little garden for relaxing or having a drink from the adjacent bar and breakfast room decorated in soft yellows. Pastries and coffee are available, but aren't included in the room rates. At the end of the breakfast room is a seating area with a couple of soft sofas and a bookshelf full of books for guests to borrow. A flight of stairs leads up to a loft with red couches with a tube TV that guests can use. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel and there's an ancient guest computer in the lobby that likely predates Wi-Fi by quite a few years.
