This bed-and-breakfast is more like a private home with guest rooms. It occupies the third floor of a private building, on a street lined with cafes and small shops. There is no elevator, so guests must climb a stairway, which isn’t steep but can be a challenge for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. Overall, this is a clean and functional property with a helpful staff. 

Guests should look into which side of the Tiber they want to stay on. The right side is best for walking from sight to sight within the Historic Center. The left side, where Rome Aparthotel is located, is best for visiting Vatican City and Trastevere, which is reachable by a 30-minute walk along the Tiber or a five-minute car ride. Crossing the Tiber into Historic Center, however, is not a difficult task thanks to the footbridge down Via di Porta Cavalleggeri. Ottaviano is the closest metro station where visitors can catch the A line. It’s about a 15-minute walk and is across Vatican City, but grants quick access to important locations like the Pantheon, Spanish Steps, and Colosseum.

As a bed-and-breakfast with only three rooms, this property has limited occupancy and amenities. However, each room is private with its own bathroom, and has a unique name like San Pietro and Colosseo. Behind ornate wooden doors, guests will find simple, but nicely put together, rooms with minibars, flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, large painting of ancient Roman monuments, and beige jacquard bed sheets. Private bathrooms are small and narrow, and have towels, toiletries, and stand-in showers or tubs. Views of the Vatican can be seen from the San Pietro room, while the Colosseo has a small balcony with views of surrounding residences.
