Public spaces are bright thanks to large windows and high ceilings, and decor is minimalist and stylish. Guests are greeted in a small but chic reception area where black tile floors contrast white walls. Here a mirrored front desk is backed by Italian quotes displayed in large, elegant lettering on the wall behind it. Corridors have the same clean, minimalist, black and white decor, and the whole property has a sleek, brand-new feel to it, having opened in 2013 after a complete renovation. With its central location, the hotel is especially popular with couples visiting the city as leisure travelers.

The hotel is situated in a convenient location in Rome's historic center, in the popular Monti neighborhood that's full of lively bars, taverns, pizzerias, ice cream parlors, and cafes. The property is within walking distance of several top tourist attractions like the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and the Coliseum. Repubblica metro station is a seven-minute walk away, while Termini train station can be reached in 15 minutes on foot. Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is about a 30-minute drive.

There are four room categories on offer at the hotel: Classic Rooms, Superior Rooms, Executive Rooms, and Junior Suites. All are decorated in the same stylish, contemporary style, with a color palette of black, white, soft gray, and beige tones, and outfitted with wooden floors and double-pane soundproofed windows. One lovely touch is the modern, dark-hued furniture, which has been specially-designed for the hotel and made locally by hand. Bathrooms are spacious and fitted with contrasting brown and beige tiles, large mirrors, bidets, and shower/tub combos, or spacious shower stalls with rainfall showerheads. The atmospheric lighting is soft and subdued, but some guests complain of the rooms being too dark. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free high speed Wi-Fi, minibars (free to use for the first night), and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Despite the double-pane windows, some guests have complained of traffic noise.

As a smaller boutique property, the Rome Times Hotel manages to fill some requirements of an upscale hotel while missing others entirely. Most notably, there's no full restaurant on-site, but breakfast service is available. Served in the stylish breakfast room, the breakfast buffet includes organic, gluten- and lactose-free products, but is not free of charge for all guests: those staying in the annex building are charged a pricey extra fee. The buffet also includes a children's corner, with products specially chosen for kids. The stylish on-site lounge bar offers a daily happy hour that includes free appetizers. The hotel has a small fitness room that is minimally equipped with only two treadmills and a weight-resistance machine. The rooftop garden provides a quiet place to relax and enjoy the panoramic city views. The hotel also has a library lounge with an Internet corner, two meeting rooms, and free Wi-Fi available throughout the property.
