Housed in a three-story adobe-style building, this basic chain hotel is predictable for the category. The small lobby is designed for quick, efficient check-in and the eating and lounge area is adjacent. There's also outdoor space where guests can hang out in front of a fireplace. The hotel isn't fancy at all, but it offers the basics that most families and budget-conscious businesspeople are seeking. Its proximity to Legoland means that it's often filled with families visiting there and other nearby attractions (including the beach). 

This hotel is located just off Interstate 5, about 35 minutes north of downtown San Diego and a 10-minute drive from Legoland. Guests can walk to South Carlsbad State Beach in about 15 minutes, and the location just off the interstate makes for easy access to nearby attractions. Balboa Park, where the famous San Diego Zoo is located, is about 30 minutes away by car. La Jolla and its famous shoreline are also 35 minutes away by car. Plan on 40 minutes to reach San Diego International Airport by car. It's about 90 minutes to L.A. from here.

Rooms are basic, but modern and attractive, with beige and brown color schemes, gold accent walls, clean-lined dark-wood furniture, patterned carpeting, and white bed linens atop brown bed skirts and pillow-top mattresses. Amenities include flat-screen TVs with premium cable channels, mini-fridges, microwaves, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi, plus all rooms have desks and chairs. Basic bathrooms have granite countertops, hairdryers, shower/tub combos, and toiletries. Suites with sofa beds and bunk beds are available for families and groups, and handicapped-accessible rooms also are available. Children 18 and younger stay free with an adult in the same room.
