- Solid dining options on-site
- Seasonal outdoor pool, tennis courts, racquet club, fitness center

Cons
- Some walls are thin, leading to noise complaints

- Some amenities are a short drive away (free shuttle provided)
Bottom Line
The Woodstock Inn is one of the most outstanding properties in Woodstock, with beautiful, manicured grounds, quintessential Vermont architecture, a gorgeous LEED-certified spa, wonderful fitness and wellness amenities, solid dining options, and a great location in a quiet pocket in the heart of the village. Rooms are spacious and have an understated decor in earth tones, with lots of wood and green accents, plus upscale amenities and free Wi-Fi. But not all have fireplaces, and some bathrooms are unimpressive for the price.

Location
In a quiet location by the Woodstock Country Cub, but in the heart of the action
The Woodstock Inn and Resort is set in an idyllic location across the street from the village green, adjacent to the Country Club, and close to Suicide Six ski area. This part of town is pretty quiet, but restaurants and stores are just a stroll or quick drive away.
Woodstock has a reputation for being one of the most picturesque towns in the country, and is a great destination for the active traveler. Skiing, canoeing, fishing, and swimming are the most popular activities, and there are some wonderful trails around town, most of which have beautiful views. One of the main draws is Suicide Six, a family-friendly ski resort (despite its name) with slopes for every level. There’s no major airport nearby, so the tourism is mainly local, with lots of well-heeled families, couples, and seniors.

Cottages, Inns, and B&Bs...America's Most Adorable Hotels
Don’t get us wrong, we love a good mega-resort just as much as the next person. But sometimes the large crowds, all-you-can-eat buffets, and 24-hour casinos make for an overwhelming stay. When we seek quieter, more intimate getaways, we head to these cottages, inns, and bed-and-breakfasts for some R&R. Hidden Pond, Maine
The Best Roadtrips From: Boston, MA
The Best Road Trips is a weekly summer series highlighting our favorite getaways from major cities all over the United States. Some associate Boston with crooked old cobblestone streets, the American Revolution, and clam chowder. (Yum.) And it’s got all that.
