As its name suggests, the Hotel Marina Panorama I y II was formerly two hotels, with one absorbing the other; this resulted in half of the complex looking significantly more modern than the other. The lobby certainly feels like part of the newer section, with a bright and airy space scattered with white furnishings, colorful modern art, and potted palms. Occasionally the mood is also lifted with live music from a baby grand piano. Most of this adult-only hotel overlooks the large terrace and swimming pool, where a peaceful and calm atmosphere is certainly helped by the child-free policy. Clientele is almost exclusively slightly older couples, mostly English and Spanish vacationers.

The hotel is located in Es Canar, a quiet village about a 15-minute drive from the larger resort of Santa Eulalia on Ibiza's southeast coast. While small, the area has plenty in the way of cafes and restaurants, plus a few bars -- though it's well away from any of the island's lively nightlife. There's a pleasant stretch of sandy beach just a two-minute walk away, as is the Jacaranda beach club and its upbeat entertainment. Ferries to Formentera and Ibiza town leave from a spot just across the road from the hotel. Ibiza Airport is around 30 minutes away by car.

The hotel's 278 rooms are generally well-maintained, featuring beachy (albeit a bit bland) light wood furniture and blue decor. Black-and-white prints of sailboats or beach scenes are a welcome touch. Rooms are bright, thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows that open to furnished balconies or terraces -- most overlook the pool though some have sea views -- and upgraded rooms add sun loungers. Suites have living areas with dated striped furnishings, but these also have flat-screen TVs, as opposed to the tube-style TVs in rooms. Amenities include mini-fridges, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and TVs with some satellite channels (including English-speaking). Safes and Wi-Fi are also available, both for a fee. Plain bathrooms have beige tiling, shower/tub combos, wall-mounted hairdryers, and basic toiletries, but some are tight on space.

This adult-only property has multiple features that add to an atmosphere of utter relaxation. Most guests spend their day on the spacious pool deck -- though some report the water can be a little cold. The lagoon-style swimming pool is lined with plenty of loungers and features a central, thatched-roof bar. There are also two poolside whirlpool tubs and a large dedicated sun terrace. Decent entertainment is put on both during the day and most evenings, usually involving live shows that can last until quite late. The fitness center is small but bright, and has cardio and strength-training equipment. There's also a small spa with a sauna, steam room, and massage treatments. A business center and meeting spaces are also available.

Most guests agree that food is not a highlight at the Hotel Marina Panorama. The property's buffet restaurant is bright and modern, however, and offers breakfast and dinner services, which are included in half-board and all-inclusive options. There's also the Grand Cafe with a bar and pool table, as well as an a la carte Italian eatery that opens to a terrace with sea views.
