The charming Monte Belvedere is on a cobblestone street in a red building with white lattices and wooden doors. Inside there’s a red desk serving as a reception area, and a lounge with seating provided by vintage fabric couches. A homemade breakfast buffet is served in the top-floor dining room with panoramic windows. The seating area is cute and modern with tables draped in white linens and fresh flowers paired with red-cushioned chairs. Another modern seating area is available on the terrace where guests -- most of whom are vacationing couples -- can take in stunning views including glimpses of the Cristo Rei, Tagus River, 25th of April Bridge, and the Basilica de Estrela. 

Monte Belvedere is located in a residential area near the Miradouro de Santa Catarina, one of the most popular hilltop terraces in Lisbon thanks to its views of the 25th of April Bridge. The hotel is also within a 15-minute walk of Bairro Alto, a lively area where guests can find restaurants, shops, and nightlife venues. The nearest metro station is a 12-minute walk away, and the airport is less than a 20-minute drive. 

Rooms at this hotel have a minimalist feel, with white walls, parquet floors, and lovely furniture pieces including vintage wooden dressers and gold-framed mirrors. Matching accent pillows and bed runners add some color to the spaces. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and coffeemakers. Some also have river views. Bathrooms -- while on the small side -- are modern, with tiled walk-in showers, heated towel racks, and vessel sinks. 

The amenities are limited at Monte Belvedere – Shiadu Boutique Guesthouses, and while there's no restaurant, the hotel does serve a homemade breakfast buffet that's included in some room rates. The hotel can also arrange for three-hour walking tours that pass by some of Lisbon’s iconic attractions. There’s also a rooftop terrace where guests can relax and take in views of the river.
