Comprising what was once a pair of Victorian homes, the Byron Hotel is a small, family-run property with a beautiful exterior featuring columns, potted plants, and windows with carved trim. The traditional lobby has red patterned carpet and large windows for natural light as well as a flat-screen TV and a granite-topped front desk. Free water, coffee, and tea are provided. The breakfast room is cozy and has wooden floors, chairs and tables, colorful artwork, and stained glass windows. The Mezzanine Lounge has white tile floors, green patterned furniture, and arched windows along with cupid murals and a Lord Byron bust. There's also a Resident’s Lounge with an antique fireplace and the staircases have gorgeous vintage metal spindles.

The Byron Hotel is on a quiet residential street within a five-minute walk of the Bayswater Station, Queensway Station, Kensington Gardens, and Whiteleys Shopping Centre. Kensington Palace is a 10-minute walk from the hotel, while Paddington Station and Hyde Park are about a 15-minute walk away. Buckingham Palace is a 10-minute taxi ride from the hotel, while Big Ben and Westminster Abbey take 15 minutes to reach. Heathrow Airport is a half-hour drive away, traffic permitting.

The Byron offers a range of room sizes, from small Singles to large Family Rooms. Units have a classic style with neutral carpet, red bed runners and cushions, cream damask-print wallpaper, and crown molding. All rooms have air-conditioning along with trouser presses, coffeemakers, and wall-mounted flat-screen TVs. Bathrooms have shower/tub combos or walk-in showers and basic toiletries are provided. Some rooms and bathrooms are small, and guests have complained of thin walls and street noise.

Amenities at the Byron are limited, and there's no gym, business center, or on-site parking lot. A breakfast of croissants, juice, yogurt, cereal, fruit, meats, and cheeses is included in room rates and gets good reviews from guests. Room service is also available and concierge services are offered at the front desk, which is open around the clock. Wi-Fi is also free throughout the hotel.
