Previously belonging to the Hi! hotel brand, the Palmanova Palace joined the Globales chain in 2015, and with it its tired beige facade was rejuvenated with fresh whitewash and a polished steel signage. Stepping inside, the lobby too has received something of a makeover, with dowdy and dated furniture replaced with more contemporary pieces -- though plenty of marble and travertine stone does date the feel somewhat. There's little else that really stands out about this mostly generic and relatively small hotel. An adult-only policy does lends the place a more-peaceful-than-most atmosphere, especially in the rear sun terrace where high, greenery-clad walls also provide a feeling of seclusion. Clientele lean toward older customers, though it also includes some younger groups.

The hotel is located on the road that runs along the edge of the popular tourist resort town of Palmanova on the southwest corner of Majorca. It's situated in a quieter area a little apart from most of the resort's lively dining and nightlife, though there are still plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Also around a four-minute walk away is the first of the Palmanova's three sandy beaches and its beachfront promenade. The wild nightlife of neighboring Magaluf is a five-minute cab journey, where during the day families can also find the child-friendly Katmandu Park. The charming cobbled streets of Palma's Old Town are about a half-hour drive away, and Palma de Mallorca Airport is around the same distance.

All 193 rooms have sliding glass doors that open to spacious balconies either overlooking the pool or surrounding buildings, plus a few look out over the road; some higher-floor balconies give glimpses of the sea. Amenities include fairly small flat-screen TVs (with plenty of English-speaking channels), mini-fridges, and old-fashioned safes (for a fee); decent Wi-Fi is available though only free for the first 30 minutes. Bathrooms are clad throughout in marble, and have shower/tub combos with flimsy curtains, wall-mounted hose hairdryers, and generic chain toiletries. Some past guests have complained of thin walls between rooms, but cleanliness is generally excellent. 

Two plans available are all-inclusive and half-board, meaning at least breakfast and dinner are included in all rates. The breakfast buffet offers a good selection of hot and cold dishes, though drinks machines could do with replacing and the dining room can be chaotic during peak season. Most guests agree the quality of the food is generally good. There's also a snack bar serving light meals such as burgers, toasted sandwiches, and pizza, as well as a pool bar with an indoor stage offering evening entertainment. The pool is certainly one of the smallest hotel pools in the area, and while loungers are generally plentiful, most are in the shade by the afternoon. Daytime activities are organized by a low-key animation team, which include the likes of water aerobics and archery. There are no spa or fitness facilities.
