Bottom Line

The budget Hotel Mykonos Beach is a relaxed, family-owned beachside hotel with pretty Aegean views from all of its 42 guest rooms and the lovely pool area. The hotel has an easygoing, beachy feel, catering to budget-conscious tourists -- both couples and families. The location is quiet yet it's under a 15-minute walk into town; guests can see much of the area and enjoy the island’s famous nightlife without a rental car. There is a spa on the premises, as well as a bar with sunset views, plus a free breakfast is offered daily. Guest rooms are simply, pleasantly decorated and have balconies (not all are private) -- though bathrooms are tiny. Though the property shows some wear and tear, it's a cozy, clean, and affordable option on an island filled with expensive hotels. Guests looking for something a bit more stylish may want to try the nearby Damianos Hotel, but it's not as close to a beach.

Mykonos Beach Hotel

Scene

Cozy, relaxed, and family-friendly budget hotel with a homey vibe

The Hotel Mykonos Beach is cozy place perched on the side of a hill overlooking a sandy beach and the beautiful Aegean sea. Its architecture and decor is traditional, with whitewashed walls inside and out, while doors and window frames are painted Aegean blue. The stone walls and gardens bring the island landscape in. The hotel feels like a beachside bungalow complex, with winding stairways between common areas and guest rooms. The vibe is quaint and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet the center of town is within walking distance, making this a convenient base. The main restaurant is homey and open to the air, with stone floors and local pottery and art lining the walls. Perhaps the most picturesque part of the hotel is its tiny chapel, a lovely place that's host to many weddings. Overall, it's an unpretentious hotel that though a bit worn around the edges, is clean and welcoming. The extras are few, and the facilities are a little out of date, but the location is ideal for tourists seeking a good value.

All of the guest rooms have French doors that open onto furnished balconies or terraces with sea views, but some balconies are not completely private. Most double beds are twins pushed together, and the sparse furnishings and tile floors are plain but pleasant, featuring an all-white Greek island style peppered with blue accents here and there.
