This mid-range Holiday Inn occupies a yellow and blue building with a balconied facade. Interiors are chainlike but pleasant, with beachy details here and there that add a tropical touch -- but the hotel feels outdated and worn. There are several outdoor areas in which to relax, including a patio lined with umbrella-shaded tables and chairs as well as sunbathing lawns. Despite its tired look, the hotel is clean and attracts vacationers on a budget drawn by its competitive rates and convenient beachfront location. Many families with kids stay here, and the property gets some repeat customers. Note that parts of the building are not accessible by elevator.

This hotel occupies a convenient beachfront location in Central Myrtle Beach, right by the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade that snakes its way along about a mile of the coast and passes right in front of the hotel. There are plenty of dining options and some shops nearby, and more within a five- to 10-minute walk of the property, as well as some family-friendly attractions, including the SkyWheel (a minutes' walk away), Ripley's Believe It or Not (five-minute walk), Family Kingdom Amusement Park (six-minute drive), and Broadway at the Beach (six-minute drive). Golfers have plenty of choices with several courses within a 20- to 30-minute drive, including Kings North Golf Course, South Creek at Myrtle Beach National, the Tidewater Golf Club, and Barefoot Golf and Resort. Myrtle Beach International Airport is around a 15-minute drive from the hotel.

The hotel offers several different types of rooms, all with private balconies. Some feature ocean views, though others have lackluster views over the parking lot. Decor is chainlike with patterned carpeting, but the rooms are clean. Wooden, traditional-style furniture includes dressers and tables with chairs. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, microwaves, mini-fridges, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms also have living rooms with Murphy beds. Many have full kitchens, which include stoves/ovens, fridges, microwaves, toasters, tea/coffee facilities, and dish-/cooking-ware. Bathrooms have roomy marble sink vanities as well as shower/tub combos. A modest amount of toiletries and wall-mounted hairdryers are also supplied. Guests recommend upgrading to oceanfront rooms for lovely views over the water.
