favehotel Sunset Seminyak
Jl. Sunset Road 89

The favehotel Sunset Seminyak is a value hotel located along the far north end of the bustling Sunset Road highway. It's a 10-minute walk from Seminyak's Eat Street, and less than a 15-minute drive to Seminyak Beach. Features include a large pool with a swim-up bar, meeting rooms, a spa, and Lime Cafe. The 100 bright rooms are simple and bathrooms are compact, though the units have contemporary style and feature air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and safes. Light sleepers may want to look elsewhere, as traffic noise can be heard from most rooms. For those who prefer to stay downtown, Grandmas Seminyak Hotel is located near the action and only a five-minute walk from the beach, but the rooms and pool there are small.

Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort
Jl. Abimanyu (Dhyana Pura)

The 60-room Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa, Bali, is a luxury boutique resort located right on picturesque Seminyak Beach. The all-suites accommodations have a clean-lined, Zen-inspired aesthetic that underscores the decadent amenities like iPod docks, espresso machines, and walk-in rainfall showers. The hotel has two pools -- one infinity-edge, overlooking the beach and the ocean; the other, surrounded by a lush, serene courtyard. Two acclaimed Thai-Indonesian restaurants include a rooftop that's one of Seminyak's coolest nightlife spots. Anantara Spa is one of the island's most decadent spas, offering a full range of beauty and wellness treatments. Free Wi-Fi, bicycles to borrow, and an area shopping shuttle are available, and both room service and the business center are available 24-hours a day. If there's a downside to this resort, it's that the rooftop can be buzzy late into the night, which can bother those trying to sleep on higher floors.

The Amala
Jl. Kunti 108

The 15-room, boutique Amala is a wellness-oriented, luxury hotel and spa. Though located in the heart of the tourist area in Seminyak and close to many shops and restaurants, the complex offers tranquility and respite. Rooms and private villas, as well as common areas throughout the hotel, have a simple and calm style that utilizes natural colors and elements to create an organic, healthy vibe. The Deluxe Rooms are not large, but the rates include daily spa treatments, while the spacious villas offer private pools or jetted plunge pools. The spa offers an array of treatments, while the on-site restaurant serves fresh, organic fare. There's also a wellness room for yoga as well as a beautiful outdoor mineral pool. The beach is not within walking distance however, so travelers seeking a beach holiday might want to consider the Seminyak or the Oberoi instead.

Tijili Seminyak
Jl. Drupadi no. 9

Tijili Seminyak is a mid-range boutique property with unconventional style and a convenient location within walking distance of Seminyak Beach. Interiors at this design-focused hotel feature local artwork and quirky touches and there is free, fast Wi-Fi throughout. The 120 rooms have trendy, yet cozy, decor along with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and rainfall showers (or copper slipper tubs) in nice, spacious bathrooms; some guests find the glass-door bathrooms lacking privacy. Features include a narrow outdoor pool lined with casual beanbag chairs, and in-room massage treatments. Kakatua Tropical Lounge serves buffet breakfast (for a small fee) and dinner, plus craft cocktails until late. Families with kids might prefer Villa Coco, which offers bungalows and villas with private pools.

Montigo Resorts Seminyak

The four-pearl Montigo Resorts Seminyak attracts both couples and families with kids with its varied set of features. There are three outdoor pools that satisfy different needs, including one pool with a lively sociable atmosphere and one pool for kids. There's a lovely spa on-site -- but fitness facilities are small and don't offer much selection. Children are well catered to with a great kids' club and a large playroom complete with a screening room. Stylish guest rooms come with a solid set of amenities, large balconies or terraces, and large upscale bathrooms, but noise can be an issue in some. The convenient location is just a five-minute walk to the beach and near plenty of dining and shopping. For something beachfront, check out The Royal Beach Seminyak Bali - MGallery Collection.

Free Wi-Fi, parking, and shuttle service to Seminyak Square, and a 24-hour fitness center with TRX equipment add value. Facilities include a swimming pool with a poolside bar, a restaurant serving international cuisine, a happening bar, a small spa, and a tiny fitness center. Free breakfast, shuttle services, and Wi-Fi add value to already reasonable rates. De Vins Sky Hotel Seminyak
Jl. Petitenget, Komplex Villa Kendal No. 35, Komplex Villa Kendal

The upper-middle-range Golden Tulip Devins Hotel Seminyak has a reasonably convenient location in Petitenget, within a 15-minute walk of the beach and bars but tucked away from the loud party scene. The 108 rooms may be modern in terms of decor style, but maintenance issues are common; guests complain about worn towels and linens, and a sewage smell in the bathrooms. Suites have pools or hot tubs on terraces. Features include a rooftop pool with a resident DJ, a glass-enclosed restaurant and bar with city views, and a full-service spa with a hydrotherapy pool. There are usually better options in this price range; travelers may want to compare rates at the Vasanti Seminyak Resort, which is farther from the beach but has nicer rooms.

Alila Seminyak
Jl Taman Ganesha No 9

This five-pearl luxury resort offers beautiful facilities and rooms for couples and families alike on the southern shores of Bali in the upscale resort area of Seminyak. The 240 suites feature a minimalist take on traditional Balinese styling and come with high-end amenities and gorgeous marble bathrooms with deep soaking tubs. Facilities are equally upscale, with a luxe spa using natural products, a 24-hour fitness center, and five infinity pools -- a blessing, given that the beach isn't well equipped for lounging. The Seasalt restaurant is a huge plus, with sushi, ramen, and a catch-of-the-day, and there's a 24-hour coffeeshop, a beach bar, and round-the-clock room service. Travelers shopping around may also want to consider the Anantara Seminyak Resort & Spa, Bali nearby, which offers similar amenities.

All villas have simple but modern decor and amenities, with large bathrooms that include huge tubs and rainfall showers. Breakfast is included in most rates and is served buffet-style in the on-site restaurant, which stays open for lunch and dinner; room service is also available.
