Courtyard Gatlinburg occupies a building with a typical chain-like facade, except it has great brick accents. However, the interior is far more impressive and modern than some other Courtyard by Marriott chain properties. The hotel opened in 2015, so the design and furniture is still fresh. A gray, orange, and yellow color scheme creates a cheery and bright atmosphere to the lobby, which blends with the restaurant. The stone fireplace adds a mountain-like aspect to the decor. There are plenty of modern public spaces where guests can relax and interact, like in the large TV room off the lobby set with lots of cozy couches or at the outdoor patio with brown woven couches and chairs with comfy yellow and red padding placed around fire pits. Though the hotel has a great location near the convention center, surprisingly enough, most guests here are families, drawn by the pool for their kids.

Courtyard Gatlinburg’s location is convenient for business travelers as the Gatlinburg Convention Center is a two-minute walk away. It’s a five-minute walk to the Space Needle, Ole Smokey Moonshine, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not. The Great Smokey Mountains National Park takes two minutes to reach by car. The Ober Gatlinburg tram is a 10-minute walk from the property. It takes about 30 minutes by car to get to the Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport. 

This Courtyard’s rooms are spacious and include a modern design that features dark gray carpet, soothing tones of blue and turquoise in artistic statement walls behind the beds, and trendy round gray couches. The wooden furniture has an IKEA-like streamlined appearance. Handy features include free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Safes are not provided, though there are desks with ergonomic chairs. Some upper-level rooms are equipped with fireplaces, balconies, and whirlpool baths. The bathrooms have cream sink countertops with lots of space, as well as walk-in showers with half-glass doors. Paul Mitchell toiletries and hairdryers are provided. 

Courtyard Gatlinburg has the convenient features of most Courtyard by Marriott properties, though the main draw is the indoor swimming pool and outdoor hot tub in a lovely courtyard with loungers and chairs. There’s also a small fitness center with a handful of cardio machines and a selection of free weights. As far as food goes, there’s a made-to-order hot breakfast offered for a fee in The Bistro. Dinner with an American menu is also available, though the restaurant is closed for lunch. The snack shop offers snacks, drinks, and toiletries for sale. Business travelers can take advantage of four fully-equipped meeting spaces, a business center with a printer, and free Wi-Fi. Outdoor parking is free.
