Pops of colorful artificial flowers and ivy are draped on wall decor and furnishings in the hallways. Faux, red roses hang around the front desk that is located on the fifth floor. A lovely old-fashioned breakfast room offers a large buffet in bright room. Wood floors, red checkered table cloths, floral wreaths, wooden wall decor, crown molding, and white lace curtains create an overall charming and relaxed atmosphere.

The hotel’s location is ideal for partygoers, with bars, casinos, restaurants, and festivals all in walking distance. Oktoberfest Munich is an 11-minute ride on the subway. The hotel is within three minutes walking distance to the Munich main train station. City Kino, an art house cinema with a cafe, is a five-minute walk. The largest beer garden in Munich, the Hirschgarten, is a 22-minute ride on the tram or the S-Bahn. Frankie’s Bike Tour is a 10-minute walk. Walking to the 200-year-old Viktualienmarkt takes 16 minutes. The Marienplatz main public square is a 14-minute walk. Driving to the Munich Airport takes 31 minutes.

In the rooms, traditional wood furniture, checkered and floral textiles, and antique lights create a homey atmosphere. Heart pillows and stuffed bears that read “in case you get homesick” are charming. There’s no air-conditioning. Features include flat-screen TVs, fans, and a writing desk. Irons are available. Budget-priced rooms have shared bathrooms, but most rooms have private bathrooms with showers or shower/tub combos. Some guests report that lively partygoers outside can be noisy. Large windows overlook the city streets or the hotel’s rear. Double and family rooms have sofas and dining tables.
